At Ham Fair 2025 in Tokyo on August 23rd and 24th, I distributed Morse code hand towels at the booth of the Keymen’s Club of Japan (KCJ), of which I am a member.
Following Ham Fair, this fall, the “29th National Deafblind Convention” will be held at Utsunomiya city.
I will be exhibiting there too as the “+14db Project” to share with deafblind persons:
— Morse code telegraphy is a form of communication that can be used solely with touch;
— you don’t need any special equipment or qualifications;
— all you need is a smartphone and a simple adapter (distributed to those interested at the venue);
— and there are over one million amateur radio operators worldwide who use Morse code to communicate across language barriers.
In order to get deafblind people interested in Morse code and to let them know that it is an “interesting” means of communication, I am preparing several experience tools, such as the adapter mentioned above, and my aim is to solicit donations and cooperation from “amateurs who are currently enthusiastic about Morse code” in the production of these tools.
